Mr Jonathan Lochhead FRCOphth is a highly experienced consultant eye surgeon with over 20 years of practice at consultant level, specialising in advanced cataract surgery and retinal surgery. He qualified in medicine from St George’s Hospital Medical School in London in 1992 and subsequently undertook specialist ophthalmic and surgical training in Oxford.
In 2004, he was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust, where his practice focuses on providing safe, precise, and personalised cataract surgery, including the management of complex cases, alongside specialist retinal procedures. In addition to his clinical work, Mr Lochhead is actively involved in ophthalmic research and has authored over 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications in leading international medical journals.
